Port Douglas is a beautiful town about an hour north of Cairns. Daily cruises depart from the marina to the Great Barrier Reef. It is also a great place from which to explore the wet tropical rainforest of the Daintree, nearby Mossman Gorge and a day trip to Cape Tribulation is a must. Port Douglas is very laid-back and friendly and it has a wide variety of boutique shops and restaurants.
